Review by hotel critic
The extensive refurbishment over the years has certainly kept the charm of the past alive while incorporating contemporary comforts. One of the highlights for me was the Reading Room, with its elegant toile panels and stylish furnishings. It provided a perfect place to unwind with a book after a long day of work. the large paved roof terrace to the rear of the property was a wonderful spot to enjoy the sea breeze and have a meal outdoors. Learning that the Prince of Wales once stayed here in 1856 gave me a sense of the rich heritage of the place. the combination of freshly prepared dishes and carefully selected wines in the dining area was a delightful experience. the traditional silver service blended seamlessly with the classic and modern cuisine offered. Overall, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. the location of the hotel was ideal, with parking just behind the property and close proximity to shops. Although the decor may be dated, the cleanliness and comfort of the room more than made up for it. In conclusion, my stay at this hotel was a pleasant mix of history, comfort, and excellent service. It provided a relaxing retreat after a busy day, and I would certainly consider staying here again in the future.
